You need topspin to be able to be aggressive at the kitchen and still keep the ball in the court. That is because the ball is usually below the net. It's only those who can generate enough paddlespeed who can hit effective below the net flick volleys, speedups off the bounce, aggressive topspin and slice dinks and put away punch volleys.
The one with the fastest hands wins the firefight
Faster paddle speed is directly tied to faster hand speed. We teach you how to accelerate your hands to get ahead of the shot and do something with it. Additionally, it is the one who can generate greater topspin and get the ball down on their opponents side that will win the firefight. Whoever has more paddlespeed and knows how to use it will win the battle every time.
The best players on the court generate the most paddle speed
Watch the PPA pro or even the best players at your local courts. What separates them from everyone else is their ability to generate more paddle head speed in order to hit harder drives, faster flick volleys and more aggressive dinks. Paddle head speed is directly proportional to your DUPR rating.
More paddlespeed means faster serves, returns, drives and passing shots
It is the shot before you get to the kitchen that often determines the point. When you can hit bigger serves, you push your opponent back and push them around. When you can hit more powerful drives and passing shots, you can force errors and put yourself in the best position to win the point.
